After going through the many reviews from diners participating in our first ever LHG Test Kitchen Week, the Heritage Corridor Business Alliance announced three winners from the first-time event.

“Our take on the typical restaurant week was one that created a lot of smiles,” stated Dan Mulka, Executive Director of the Heritage Corridor Business Alliance (the Chamber of Commerce serving Lemont, Homer Glen, and the surrounding areas).  “The culinary and bar staffs were thrilled to showcase their creativity and ingenuity.  The participating restaurants were able to bring in new and repeat customers and offer great value at a fair price.  And guests raved about what they were able to taste.  Truly win-win by all accounts.”

The Phoenix Kitchen and Cocktails received the highest rated cocktail with their Campfire Old Fashioned.  The drink featured Sagamore Rye Whiskey, Marshmallow simple syrup, chocolate bitters, and a large ice sphere.

Wooden Paddle's sticky ribs

Wooden Paddle’s Stand Banh Mi Pizza took home the highest rating for best entree.  We, unfortunately, forgot to take a picture of it.  Their Wood-Fired Chinese Sticky Ribs were great too, so I’m included a photo of them.

The overall best rated Test Kitchen Menu went to Barrel & Vine, whose Beef Wellington, Jambalaya, Halibut, and Filet with Bone Marrow all had outstanding ratings.  So did their “Choose Your Old Fashioned Adventure”, which was a unique way of presenting the cocktail.

Congratulations to everyone that participated in this event, and we’re proud to let you know that LHG Test Kitchen Week will be back!  Mark your calendars for January 20-26, 2023, then keep up to date on the event by following our Facebook account –  https://www.facebook.com/LHGTestKitchenWeek.
