For 50 years, Earth Day has been celebrated by billions of people all over the world. Every April 22 people from all walks of life join together in promoting awareness for the health of our environment.

Why should we continue to celebrate this holiday?

With serious concerns about the unprecedented changes to our environment that are being studied and addressed by prominent scientists, politicians, companies, and climate change activists alike, it is more important than ever for each of us to examine our individual and collective relationships with the planet.

The Forge: Lemont Quarries is inviting all like-minded individuals, families, and organizations in a call to action for our environment.  Celebrate Earth Day and enjoy impactful experiences that inspire action.

Attendees will experience:

  • Live presentations from State and Local leaders, organizations, and businesses
  • Active prairie reostration & litter removal work project (service hours)
  • Workshops and demonstrations
  • Live animal displays
  • The Jesse White Tumblers
  • Videos and music presentations
