Because if anyone can eat 26 ounces of meat, they deserve a medal.
And, if you haven’t been scared off by that first statement, then the LHG Meat-A-Thon is the event for you. Sign up now for this inaugural event, which takes place on Sunday, November 13 from 11am – 3pm.
There will be 13 stations, each with a portion for you to eat that features 2 ounces of meat. It’s not a race, but a challenge as you go throughout Lemont’s Downtown to take on the quest.
Wooden Paddle will feature 2 fried meatballs. Barrel and Vine will be serving mini Beef Wellingtons. Heroes West Lemont will be serving up a hamburger slider. Big Ed’s Shed will be featuring their award-winning Texas Red Chili. Matt’s Barbecue will have pulled pork. The Phoenix Kitchen and Cocktails will have a 14-hour roasted pork belly with butternut squash nage, house grown microgreens and aged balsamic (pictured below).
And, more will be revealed as we get closer to the event.
Each runner will receive a long-sleeve t-shirt, running bib, and if they finish – the “Golden T-Bone” finisher medal. “It’s not race, but a challenge,” stated Dan Mulka, Event Director and Executive Director of the Heritage Corridor Business Alliance. “A tough challenge but one that you’ll love telling your friends about.”
Proceeds benefit the Heritage Corridor Business Alliance, the chamber of commerce serving Lemont, Homer Glen, and the surrounding areas.
